Seapoint 12-03-2016
Seapoint beach opens to the north and consists mainly of large rocks and sand. It is located near Dun Laoghaire in County Dublin. The beach is flat and shallow and the area is suitable for swimming at high tide. Beside the beach is the Seapoint Martello Tower, this was part of a network of 28 sites that were built to defend Dublin from Napoleonic invasion in the early nineteenth century and is a protected structure.
To the south of the beach, the sea covers some of the rocks; you should take extra care swimming in these parts but the area is still shallow. During the summer months the north of the beach is well-liked by swimmers and to the south canoeing surfing and jet skiing are popular. The beach is life guarded throughout the bathing season. The beach is easily accessible for cars and by public transportation.
The area is an internationally important bird site and is designated a Special Protection Area (SPA). The bay is designated a Special Area of Conservation due to its extensive sand and mudflats.. John Holmes

Seapoint Beach, 12-03-2016: A Picturesque Scene of Dublin's Treasured Coastline This photograph showcases Seapoint Beach, located in the scenic area of County Dublin, near Dun Laoghaire. The beach, which opens to the north, is characterized by its vast expanse of large rocks and sand. The shallow, flat terrain of the beach makes it an ideal spot for swimming during high tide. Beside the beach stands the historic Seapoint Martello Tower, a protected structure that dates back to the early nineteenth century. This tower was part of a network of 28 sites built to defend Dublin from Napoleonic invasion. To the south of the beach, the sea covers some of the rocks, making it essential to exercise caution while swimming in these parts. However, during the summer months, the north of the beach is a popular destination for swimmers. For those seeking adventure, the southern part of the beach is ideal for canoeing, surfing, and jet skiing. The area surrounding Seapoint Beach is an internationally important bird site and is designated a Special Protection Area (SPA). The bay is also designated a Special Area of Conservation due to its extensive sand and mudflats. The beach is easily accessible by both car and public transportation, making it a convenient destination for locals and tourists alike. Whether you're looking to relax and take in the breathtaking views or engage in water activities, Seapoint Beach offers something for everyone. This photograph, captured by John Holmes from 1x Gallery, beautifully encapsulates the natural beauty and rich history of this treasured coastal gem.
